Business Meeting/Member’s Forum: Tuesday, June 7 (1:15-2:15 PM Eastern). The Member's Forum will be held for on-site attendees only. Information about the business meeting will be discussed for a time to be held following the conference. Stay tuned to your NASIG email. 

Cancellations

NASIG is not responsible for hotel room cancellations. Please see the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Cancellation Policy. As cancellation policies have different flexibilities during the pandemic, further hotel cancellation policies will be provided at the time of room reservation and in your reservation confirmation. You may also call Baltimore Marriott at 1 (410) 385-3000 for the most up to date cancellation policies.

Child Care

NASIG is not able to provide child care or to screen available services for conference attendees.

Clothing: Business casual to casual clothing is recommended. Full business attire is not required. Dress comfortably and the meeting rooms may be cool, so plan accordingly.

Code of Conduct

NASIG is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, or economic status. We do not tolerate the harassment of NASIG members and others who participate in NASIG conferences, events, meetings, conference sponsored social activities and online spaces in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any venue, including talks, workshops, receptions, Twitter and other online media, unless it is specifically relevant to the research being presented. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Conference Program

This year’s program will be entirely online in Sched: https://2022nasig.sched.com/. Digital signs outside each session room will provide a snapshot of sessions in that room and there will be a few posters outside of main areas and at the registration desk that detail the day’s sessions.

COVID Protocol

Credit Cards

NASIG accepts VISA and MasterCard only. To pay by credit card, please be sure to use your name as it appears on your card, and the expiration date.

Dine-Arounds

Monday, June 6 (6:30 PM Eastern). All dine-arounds are within 0.5 miles of the hotel and accessible. Attempts will be made to dine outdoors, however outdoor seating may not be guaranteed due to weather or restaurant restrictions. NASIG will provide the most up to date information about seating at the registration desk during dine-around sign ups. Please sign up at the registration desk early if you are interested. Dine-arounds will be limited to groups of 10.

Discord

Discord will be the platform used for both virtual and onsite attendees who would like to discuss sessions in a virtual setting. A link to join the NASIG Discord will be sent out the week of the conference. Sched includes information for the Discord channels where specific presentations will be discussed.

Guests

NASIG welcomes your family and friends to enjoy a stay in Baltimore, with options to attend conference events or sightsee around the region. The Opening Reception fee for guests is $100.

Internet access

Complimentary wireless in Session Rooms. To receive free in-room WiFi, attendees can sign in with their Marriott Bonvoy account or join for free by using the Marriott Bonvoy app.

LinkedIn

Connect with NASIG through LinkedIn to like, post and share information with your colleagues and connections. This can provide greater visibility for both NASIG and the annual conferences.

Live Streaming and other Virtual Sessions

The two vision sessions for the conference will be the only live streamed sessions. Zoom links will be sent out so virtual attendees can join. All other sessions have been prerecorded and will be posted in NASIG's YouTube. The videos will go live the morning they are scheduled and information will be emailed to attendees.

Join NASIG or renew your membership today and receive the discounted conference rates. NASIG membership will save you $115 on the full conference rate during registration.

Message Board

There will be a message board near the Registration Desk. Feel free to leave messages for attendees.

NASIG Ramble

The NASIG Ramble will be onsite the morning of Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 6:00 AM, starting behind the hotel near Mr. Trash Wheel. Virtual attendees are encouraged to complete their preferred method of exercise any morning of the conference and share photos of their routes.  

Visit the NASIG Ramble page to sign the required waiver for onsite participation, find the social media hashtag, and view a timelapse video (coming soon!) of the course.

Parking

  • Hotel Valet Parking: $46 daily
  • Off-site self-parking$8 hourly, $25-$35 daily. There are a number of nearby garages that offer varying rates:

Hotel parking garage does not accommodate oversized vehicles-height clearance 6 feet 8 inches.

Powering Up

As with many meeting facilities, locations for powering up your devices in meeting spaces are limited. There will be a few cell phone charging stations set up in the foyer, but we recommend powering up before the meetings. 

Printing, computers

The business center is located inside the UPS Store on the second floor. It is accessible 24/7 with a room key card and there is a $7.95 minimum for printing/Internet usage.

Refund Policies (Registration)

There will be a $50 processing fee for all cancellations received on or before May 26, 2022.

The full registration amount minus the processing fee will be refunded if the cancellation request is received on or before May 12, 2022.

Fifty percent (50%) of the registration amount minus the processing fee will be refunded if the cancellation request is received between May 13, 2022 - May 26, 2022.

No refunds will be issued for cancellations received on or after May 27, 2022.

Safety

Baltimore is an urban city and has issues with crime in several neighborhoods. The downtown area near the hotel has many hotels, restaurants, and is relatively safe. As in any major city you need to exercise caution and use your best judgment. If travelling outside the harbor, taxi or light rail is recommended and available.

    Spotlight Sessions: Monday, June 6 (5:30-6:30 PM Eastern) - onsite only

    Take-Out Food: If take-out dining is desired, the hotel has a table in the lobby where food deliveries can be dropped off. The hotel requests that take-out orders not be consumed in common areas, but rather brought back to an individual's hotel room for consumption.

    Transportation: To get to and from the hotel, NASIG recommends using an airport shuttle service. Super Shuttle can be used to make reservations based on flight arrival and departure and will drop off/pick up at the hotel: https://www.supershuttle.com/locations/baltimore-bwi/ 

    Vendor Expo: Monday, June 6 (12:00-1:30 PM Eastern)

    Vendor Lightning Talks: Monday, June 6 (4:00-5:15 PM Eastern) and Tuesday, June 7 (3:45-5:00 PM)

    Volunteers (Non-CPC members): Contact CPC if you would like to volunteer at the conference.

    Weather: Baltimore weather in early June tends to be warm but not overly hot. Temperatures range from lows of 64.2°F (17.9°C) to highs of 80.1°F (26.7°C). The humidity is around 75% and UV index is 6. Sunscreen and sun protection is recommended if you plan to be outdoors during midday. Keep an eye on the weather to see if you should bring an umbrella. Precipitation is hit or miss in June.
