Accompanying guests: NASIG welcomes your family and friends to enjoy a stay in beautiful Pittsburgh, with options to attend conference events or sightsee around the region. The Opening Reception fee for guests is $80.

ADA Requests: If you have special needs please note them on your registration form. If you have specific questions, please contact the CPC at conf-plan@nasig.org. Sleeping room accommodations for those with special needs should be arranged by the registrant with the hotel as soon as possible. While the Hotel is ADA compliant, the William Penn Ballroom where breakfast and lunch will be served does have stairs. If you have mobility issues, please alert a member of the hotel staff upon arriving so that they can arrange elevator access.

Boarding Passes, printing: The business center is located on the Conference Level (CL). Next to Concierge in the main lobby is a computer for guests to print boarding passes (self-serve kiosk).

Bulletin Board: There will be a bulletin board at the Registration Desk. Feel free to post job ads and other messages. Sign Ups for Dine Arounds will be posted on the Board.

Business Meeting/Member’s Forum: Friday, June 7th 4:30-5:30.

Cancellations: There will be a $50 processing fee for cancellations received on or before May 11, 2019. The full registration amount, minus the processing fee, will be returned. A cancellation fee of 50% of registration costs plus a $50 fee will be applied for cancellations received between May 20 – 27, 2019. NO REFUND will be issued for cancellations received after May 27, 2019.

NASIG is not responsible for problems beyond our control such as (but not limited to) weather conditions, transportation disruptions, prepaid parking, prepaid tours, etc. No refunds will be given in these situations. Late requests for refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

All cancellations must be sent in writing via fax, email, or regular mail to the conference registrar (registrar@nasig.org). Please fax or email cancellations, if possible, and expect confirmation within two days. If necessary, to cancel by regular mail please allow sufficient time for a response.

The final decision on conference refunds rests with the NASIG President and Treasurer.

Check-in/out time: 3:00 pm/12 noon

Checks: Make checks payable to NASIG in US dollars.  To ensure that checks are received by the treasurer before the conference, please mail them by May 25,2019. If you cannot mail a check by that date, please bring it to the conference with you. 

Child Care: NASIG is not able to provide child care or to screen available services for conference attendees.

City Information: Printed materials and maps will be available at the conference registration desk and at the hotel. Check the NASIG Conference website for more Local Activities information.

Clothing: Business or business casual clothing is recommended. The meeting rooms may be cool, so plan accordingly.

Code of Conduct:  NASIG is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, or economic status. We do not tolerate the harassment of NASIG members and others who participate in NASIG conferences, events, meetings, conference sponsored social activities and online spaces in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any venue, including talks, workshops, receptions, Twitter and other online media, unless it is specifically relevant to the research being presented. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Credit Cards: NASIG accepts VISA and MasterCard only. To pay by credit card, please be sure to use your name as it appears on your card, and the expiration date.

Debit Cards: NASIG does not accept debit cards, but can accept checks, Visa or MasterCard credit cards.

Dine-Arounds: Thursday June 7, 6:30.  Information about the selected restaurants will be available on the conference web page.  Sign-up sheets for reserved tables at selected restaurants will be available at the registration desk bulletin board.

Fun Run/Walk:  Join your NASIG colleagues bright and early Friday, June 7; participants should be able to complete the course in time for breakfast. Please note, there is one staircase along this year's route

Great Ideas Showcase:  Thursday, June 6, 5-6 pm.  The Showcase will provide an opportunity to share innovative ideas, new workflows, and new applications of technology in an interactive and informal setting. Great Ideas can be demonstrated in a variety of ways -- posters, laptops, tablets, e-readers, etc. Participants will be given a table to showcase their ideas as attendees mingle amongst the tables.

Hotel reservations: The link to the hotel registration page is provided at the time of conference registration. It appears on the conference registration confirmation page and in the confirmation email.

LinkedIn: NASIG now has a presence on LinkedIn and we welcome you to become a member of the organization online.  By connecting with NASIG through LinkedIn, you can like, post and share information about the conference with your colleagues and connections, easily providing greater visibility of both NASIG and the conference.

Internet access: Complimentary wireless in General Session Rooms and all Guest Rooms. Please note that there are separate logins for each.

Medical: There are multiple hospitals with ER’s within 1-3 miles of the hotel.  There are 2 Urgent Care Centers 4 miles from the hotel, public transportation to both is available.

Membership: Not a NASIG member? Join NASIG or renew your membership today and receive the membership conference and pre-conference rates. NASIG membership will save you $115 off of the full conference rate during early bird registration.

Parking: Hotel Valet Parking $36 night in/out privilege.

Self-Parking $19/day across the street  Mellon Square Garage, NO in/out privilege.

Photos: NASIG will be taking photos of attendees throughout the conference. These photos are for NASIG use and may appear on the NASIG Website, newsletter, conference brochures, social media outlets, or other future NASIG promotional material. By virtue of their presence, conference attendees agree to the usage of their likeness in such media.

Powering up:  As with many meeting facilities, locations for powering up your devices in meeting spaces are very limited.  Please power up before the meetings.

Roommates: If you are seeking a roommate for the conference, post a message (nasig-l@nasig.org).

Safety: Pittsburgh is an urban city and has issues with crime in several neighborhoods.  The downtown area near the hotel has many hotels, restaurants and is relatively safe. As in any major city you need to exercise caution and use your best judgment.  During the conference there will be 2 major festivals (Arts Festival, PrideFest) occurring and festival goers will be out and about in the evenings.

Snapshot Sessions: Friday, June 7 - 2:00-3:00. The Snapshot Sessions will consist of a number of 5-7-minute presentations that quickly describe a project, workflow, or idea of interest to attendees.

Speakers' Breakfast: Thursday, June 6 7:30-8:45.  Get specifics (e.g. room assignments, AV needs, etc.), meet your introducers and recorders. Get instructions and the schedule for filing your papers or reports for the conference proceedings.

Vendor Expo: The vendor expo will be held on Thursday, June 6th in the Urban Room from 11:45 - 3:45.  This is a great opportunity to connect with our conference sponsors and enjoy a delicious lunch with fellow conference attendees.

Vendor Lightning Talks: The vendor lightning talks will be held on Thursday, June 6th in the Grand Ballroom from 3:45 - 5:00.  This fast-paced series of presentations from NASIG's Tier 1 and Tier 2 sponsors will provide an opportunity to learn about new products, services and updates from over 11 companies.

Volunteers at the Conference Host Site (Non-CPC members): Local volunteers who are not attending the conference are recruited to do miscellaneous tasks.  Volunteers are permitted to attend sessions the day of their shift. There is no reduction in fees for conference attendees who volunteer their service.

Weather:  Average temperatures for early June low 60’s and highs in the low 80’s. Pittsburgh typically has rain at some point in early June so consider packing an umbrella or rain gear.
