Core Competencies for Electronic Resources Librarians
The Core Competencies Task Force developed a document describing core competencies for serials and electronic resources librarians. It provides librarian educators with a basis for developing curriculum with a specialized focus. Employers might use the Competencies as a basis for describing these specialized positions and to establish criteria upon which to evaluate the performance of those who hold them. It is based on current research and complements ALA's Core Competences for Librarianship.

Core Competencies for Print Serials Librarians
The NASIG Core Competencies Task Force (CCTF) is seeking comment on a draft of the Core Competencies for Print Serials Librarians. This document adds to the NASIG Core Competencies for Electronic Resources Librarians by describing the skills that librarians need to manage physical format serials in today's libraries.
The CCTF will hold discussion sessions at the 29th annual NASIG conference in Fort Worth, Texas, to gather feedback on the Core Competencies for Print Serials Librarians. You are also welcome to contact the task force electronically to share your thoughts.
