Conference program


Welcome to NASIG 2009 Annual Conference Online Registration. 

Registration will open in March.  Last day to register online will be May 25, 2009.  You may register onsite at the conference, but there will be an additional $50 fee

Hotel registration will open at the same time conference registration opens.  Please use the hotel  link on the annual conference page to reserve your room.

ADA  requests

To determine whether NASIG will be able to meet your needs, please contact Steve Kelley at kelleys@wfu.edu by the close of registration for the event (May 25, 2009) to discuss your accommodation request. You will receive written confirmation of the agreed-upon accommodations prior to or at the time of the conference event.

Conference prices

Member rate: $ 375
Non-member rate: $500
Daily rate (1 day only allowed): $150

The following meals are included with your full conference paid registration:  Receptions (Thursday and Saturday), Breakfast (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and Lunch (Friday).  One day registration will include meals listed for that day only.

Pre-conference rates

  • Half-day pre-conference - "Basics of E-Resource Licensing"
    (June 4, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.)
    Member ½ day: $75
    Non-Member ½ day: $100
  • Full day pre-conference - "Navigating Your Way through the E-journal Rapids"
    (June 3, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.)  Lunch on your own.
    Member full day: $150
    Non-Member full day: $200
  • One & ½ day Pre-conference - "SCCTP Electronic Serials Cataloging Workshop"
    (June 3, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. & June 4, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.)  Lunch on your own.
    Member: $225
    Non-member: $275

NASIG reserves the right to cancel a preconference with less than 10 participants.  In that event, preconference registration cost refunds will be made to those who registered for that event.

Events & tour prices


Thursday, June 4   Opening reception at the Marriott Renaissance  (included with full registration).  Guests are an additional $30.

Friday, June 5   OptionalBiltmore House Dinner and Tour, includes coach transportation, 3 course dinner and ticket for house and garden tour. Ticket will also be good on Sunday or Monday following. Guests should be registered separately.  Tickets are $125 per person, regardless of membership status.  

Saturday, June 6   Reception at the Crest Center (included with full registration).  Local music group will provide entertainment.  Guests are an additional $60. 

Institutional credit card payments guidelines

If using an institutional credit card and if your institution does not allow for optional tours or you are adding a guest for the events, you will need to register twice.  Once for what will be on the institutional credit card and a second time for the charges to be paid separately.  


Payments

Conference registration payment may be made via credit card (Visa and MasterCard only) through the online registration, or by check sent with a copy of your e-mail invoice.  (Invoice will arrive by e-mail shortly after you complete registration.)  Make checks payable to NASIG and send to:

All payments must be in U.S. dollars only; credit card transactions must include the expiration date, the three digit security code on the back of the credit card, and the name as it appears on the card. The address requested is the address the credit card bills are mailed to.  NASIG accepts Visa and MasterCard only.  Questions about any other form of payment should be addressed to registrar@nasig.org before registering. 

Registration confirmation

Upon completion of the Online Registration, a confirmation will appear.  Another confirmation will be sent to your e-mail.  Please keep this confirmation for future reference.  Please provide a copy of this confirmation to the registrar in any communications, should you have any changes, questions, or problems regarding your registration.  This will help the registrar access your registration record quicker.  Credit card payments will be confirmed by e-mail at time of registration.  Payments by check will be confirmed by the registrar when payment is received.

Receipts

Your e-mail confirmation from your online registration and and/or credit card will be your receipt. 

NASIG conference refund policy

There will be no penalty for cancellations received on or before 30 days before the first day of the annual conference (May 5, 2009).  The full amount paid, minus a $50 processing fee, will be refunded.

A cancellation fee of 50% of registration costs plus a $50 fee will be applied for cancellations received between 29-10 days before the annual conference (May 6 - 26).  No refund will be issued for cancellations received less than 10 days before the first day of the annual conference.  Late requests for refunds due to a family emergency only will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

All cancellations must be sent in writing via fax, email or regular mail to the conference registrar.  Please fax or email cancellations, if possible, and expect confirmation within two days.  If necessary to cancel by USPS, please allow sufficient time for a response.

NASIG is not responsible for problems beyond our control such as weather conditions, prepaid parking, prepaid tours, etc.  No refunds will be given in these situations.

The final decision on refunds rests with the NASIG President and Treasurer.
