NASIG Vote Begins

Voting for Vice-President/President-Elect, three Member-at-Large positions, and Bylaw changes is now open.  To cast your ballot at our new Online Voting site.

Online Balloting is being hosted on our new site which requires you to log in with your new personal username and password.  These will be listed at the bottom of the email message you received on Monday, February 25th if you have paid your 2008 membership dues. Ballots must be completed by midnight (EST) on March 25th. Results will be announced March 31, 2008.

Profiles of each candidate are available at http://www.nasig.org/members/timedated/2008election.html These profiles include NASIG activities, professional activities other than NASIG, and a position statement.

NASIG Poster Sessions - Call for Proposals

The NASIG Program Planning Committee (PPC) invites poster session proposals for the 23rd NASIG conference in Phoenix. Posters will be on display 9:30-5:30 on Friday, June 6th. Poster sessions provide an opportunity to share innovative ideas and new applications of technology. Additional guidelines and the online application form for poster sessions are available: http://www.nasig.org/public/postersguidelines.html. Deadline for submission: Applications must be received by 5 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 15, 2008. .

2008 Membership Renewals

The deadline for NASIG membership renewal (and retaining your voting rights for 2008) is January 14, 2008. For any individual choosing to mail a check, the envelope must be postmarked by midnight January 14, 2008.

NASIG Signs with ArcStone

NASIG signs with ArcStone Information Services to implement association management software and website redesign. NASIG President Char Simser appointed Donnice Cochenour from Colorado State University to lead the project implementation team. Watch for additional details in the December issue of the NASIG Newsletter.

Call for Nominations

The Nominations & Elections Committee invites your nominations for Vice-President/President-Elect and three Member-at-Large positions. If you know someone who would be great for a NASIG office, please complete the online form.

The deadline for nominations is Oct.12, 2007.

All current NASIG members are eligible (except current members of the Nominations & Elections Committee).

Conference Registration Winners

Two NASIG members have recently been the recipients of free conference registrations. Ronadin Lee Carey, periodicals librarian at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, won the drawing held at the Louisville conference to support NASIG scholarships and awards. Lisa Blackwell was announced on August 18 as the winner of the conference evaluation drawing, which was held to encourage conference attendees to submit online evaluations. Lisa is the serials/research librarian at Children’s Hospital Library in Columbus, Ohio. Congratulations to both Ronadin and Lisa!

Did you miss the opportunity to get a conference tee shirt or other item of NASIG-obilia at this year’s Louisville conference? Well, you’re in luck! An online NASIG store is now open for business at http://www.cafepress.com/nasig. Tee shirts and mugs with the Louisville logo and buttons with the NASIG logo are available. All proceeds go to support NASIG scholarships and awards.
