Frequently Asked Questions
Accompanying guests: NASIG welcomes your family and friends to enjoy a stay in the beautiful Buffalo area, with options to attend conference events or sightsee around the activity-filled Buffalo-Niagara region. Event prices for guests are available on the registration page, and sightseeing options on the Explore Buffalo page.
ADA Requests: If you have limited mobility, please indicate your needs on your registration. Specific questions can be directed to the Conference Planning Committee Co-chairs, through the link on the Contact Us page.
Baseball: It's zombie night at the ballpark! The Buffalo Bisons will be playing the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, followed by a fireworks show. Bring your zombie gear or get made up there by the crew of Terror Technologies! Game tickets can be reserved on the Registration page. Deadline for purchasing tickets in the NASIG block is May 24, 2013.

Boarding Passes, printing: The Business Center located near the main entrance of the Hyatt off the lobby offers high-speed Internet access and printing.
Bulletin Board: There will be a bulletin board at the Registration Desk. Feel free to post job ads.
Business Meeting: Friday, June 7 from 5-6 pm in the Convention Center. Come and voice your ideas about the present and future of NASIG.
Cancellations: Those received before May 3, 2013 will be refunded in full, minus a $50 processing fee. A cancellation between May 4 and May 27, 2013 will receive a 5% refund of registration costs, plus a $50 processing fee. There will be no refunds after May 27, 2013. See the Registration page for additional details.
Checkout time- Hyatt: Noon.
Checkout time- Comfort Suites: 11:00 am.
Checks: Make checks payable to NASIG in US dollars.
Child Care: NASIG is not able to provide child care or screen available services for conference attendees.
City Information: Printed materials and maps will be available at the conference registration desk and at the hotel. Also see the Explore Buffalo page for additional information.
Clothing: In keeping with the NASIG tradition, casual attire is recommended; shorts, jeans, t-shirts, sandals, comfortable shoes, etc. The weather should be comfortably warm, but the meeting rooms may be cool, so plan accordingly.
Committee Meetings: Will be held Saturday, June 8 from 7:30 - 8:30 am. Room assignments will be posted.
Credit Cards: NASIG accepts VISA and MasterCard only. Information must include the name as it appears on your card, and the expiration date.
Debit Cards: NASIG accepts only checks and Visa or Master Card credit cards. Our bank recommends against accepting debit cards for registrations due to security issues and our inability to give refunds against a debit card. Thank you for your cooperation.
Dine-Arounds: There are many restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. Maps and handouts are available at the registration desk to venture out on your own, or sign up sheets for reserved tables in nearby restaurants will be available on the registration desk bulletin board.
Fun Run/Walk: Join your NASIG colleagues bright and early Saturday morning outside the Hyatt. From 6am to 7am, the group will run (or walk) a loop to the waterfront and back- just in time for breakfast.
Great Ideas Showcase: Friday, June 7, from 2:25 - 3:25. The Great Ideas Showcase will provide an opportunity to share innovative ideas, new workflows, and new applications of technology in an interactive and informal setting. Great Ideas can be demonstrated in a variety of ways- posters, laptops, tablets, e-readers, etc. Participants will be given a table to showcase their idea as attendees mingle amongst the tables.

Informal Discussion Groups: Discussion groups offer the oppportunity to informally discuss a wide range of topics. These discussion will take place Saturday, June 8th from 12:00 - 1:00.
Internet access: Wireless Internet access will be provided in the lobby, Bistro, and business center. Guest rooms are also equipped with Internet access.
Membership: Not a NASIG member? Join NASIG or renew your membership today and receive the membership conference and pre-conference rates. NASIG membership will save you $125 off of the full conference rate during early bird registration.
Parking: Valet Parking: The Hyatt is pleased to offer overnight valet parking for $20 per day, which includes guest in and out privileges.
Self Parking: There are two public parking ramps adjacent to the hotel. Parking rates vary at both locations, and do not include in and out privileges.

Purchase Orders: Sorry, but NASIG has no way of handling purchase orders.

Speakers' Breakfast: Friday, June 7 from 7:30 - 8:30 am. Get specifics, meet your introducers and recorders. Get instructions and the schedule for filing your papers or reports.

Vendor Expo: Thursday, June 6 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm.
Volunteers at the Conference Host Site (Non-CPC members): Volunteers are recruited locally to do miscellaneous tasks, such as helping with registration, guiding people to offsite locations, etc. They are students and library staff who are not attending the conference. In return for volunteering they are permitted to attend a couple sessions the day they volunteer. NASIG does not permit conference attendees to also serve as volunteers for a reduction in fees.
Weather: Buffalo is warm in June. Rainy conditions are also possible. Check here for the local forecast.
