First-Timers' Reception (3:00 - 3:30 p.m.)

The First-Timers' Reception is held to welcome newcomers to the NASIG organization and conference, provide a venue for mentors and mentees to meet for the first time, and create networking opportunities. It's a great way to start the conference.

First-timers have the opportunity to be mentored by a person who has attended at least one previous NASIG conference. Information about the mentoring program and the application form are available on the NASIG website. The deadline for applying is April 14.

Dinner at Red Rocks

Following the opening ceremonies, the Thursday evening dinner event will take place at the lovely Red Rocks Visitor Center. Red Rocks Visitor Center is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near Morrison, Colorado, 15 miles west of Denver, in the midst of an 816-acre park. Panoramic views of the mile-high city abound and we will be treated to videos of noteworthy musical performances at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Go to the Red Rocks web site for more information: http://www.redrocksonline.com. All scheduled activities are indoors.

Seven buses will make continuous loops from the Marriott to Red Rocks between 5:30 and 10:30 p.m. The first bus will begin boarding at 5:30 p.m. The trip from the Marriott to Red Rocks will take approximately 30 minutes. Buffet dinner service will begin at 7 p.m and continue to 9 p.m. The last bus will leave Red Rocks at 10:00 p.m.

Directions for those who'd like to drive themselves:

Coming from Downtown, take I-70 west to exit 259, turn left at the bottom of the Morrison exit ramp, cruise on downhill 1.5 miles to the Red Rocks Park entrance.

Coming from south Denver, take C-470 to the Morrison exit, turn west and follow the signs to the Park entrances.

Dine-Arounds

Central Denver Art Walk

Many galleries stay open late the first Friday of each month - generally from 5pm-8pm or later. Galleries with changing exhibits take this opportunity to introduce the general public to new shows. A host of surrounding businesses in the area accommodate the crowds, restaurants, bars, bookstores and so forth. Some free transportation is available for the self-guided tour. Participating districts include the Golden Triangle and Old Town Santa Fe Drive.
